Slump

To say I have been in a slump is quite the understatement. We made it back from France, despite the terrorist scares, transportation strike and 5 1/2 hour flight delay. Whew! Was it worth it, yes, a million times yes! But I have to admit, leaving a chateau in the south of France and sitting in a cubicle at the office a mere 24 hours later was quite a shock.
So I have moped, worked, slept, and tried to figure out a way to get back there…fast. It’s not just that it was a great vacation or that we were exposed to some of the most amazing sites, smells and tastes. There was something different about this place, something that makes my heart ache just thinking about it. I think Mr. Blue Eyed Yonder described it best, he told me,
“I think you found your soul there.”
I have never heard words that rang so true. This trip has got me thinking, rusty wheels in motion. Inspired and heart refreshed – everyone deserves that every now and then.

I adored France, and like I said, it’s hard to even look back at the pictures. It makes me miss it so much. But instead of filing them away in a folder, I’ve decided to share this experience and this beauty with you. A little taste of our journey. Perhaps it will be all you ever want to see of France or it just might inspire you to dust off those travel bags and hit the road. If not to France, then to whatever place makes your heart light up.

So, stay tuned. We’ll whisk through Paris and dive into the heart of Provence… and you don’t even have to leave your couch.

Oh, I so know how you feel. I immediately started a return trip fund to guarantee that I was going back the following year. That made me feel a **wee bit** better. Saving $50. Bucks a week gave me around $2600 for the next trip. Yay! The next thing I did was google to find others who felt just like me… those that are tearing up thinking of that magical place they left behind. Then I started some detailed and immaculate scrap-books of the place. And lo & behold, I started to feel some-what normal again… some-what more adjusted to the hum-drum of life at home… some-what less heart-broken. I still miss it very much… and the music can bring a tear to my eyes but I am feeling better now. And you will too. Just think we'll get to cycle right back through these feelings AGAIN after our next trip! Ahhhhh, but it's so worth it! Keep a smile in your heart <3

awww..what a perfect comment from your husband!

I have been fascinated by all things French since I was 18. And yet I've never taken a trip to France. I must go because I think I too will find my soul there.

Sunny – If you haven't been, you HAVE too! Imagine all the joys and wonders of San Francisco times 100! I fell in love with their culture, their cities, their history. It was all so magical. When you decide to go, let me know. I'd be happy to share some pointers. 🙂
